Computing

At Wellesley Primary we have developed a Computing curriculum based on the National Curriculum to engage our children in the ever-changing world of technology and E-Safety.
Our curriculum is designed to build on children’s prior experiences and to revisit key ideas and concepts to enable deep learning. Children will be prepared for their next stage of education from EYFS to Y1; Y2 to Y3 and Y6 to Y7 by teaching the skills, knowledge and attitudes they will need.

The children follow a progressive curriculum, provided by the scheme iLearn2, which allows them to build on prior knowledge in the three strands of digital literacy (including e-safety), information technology and programming. E-safety forms a very important part of our curriculum and each year children engage with a unit of work, alongside their learning in PSHE, covering this at an age-appropriate level. E-safety is also covered in class regularly in response to issues raised within each individual cohort. The school also recognises National Internet Safety Day.

During their time at Wellesley, children will have the opportunity to use a range of digital devices such as bee-bots, laptops, desktop computers, iPads and chrome books.
