School Uniform

Wellesley Primary School has an identifying uniform. We believe that it encourages children to be neat and tidy for work; it fosters pride in school; it prevents discrimination; it reduces arguments about clothes at home and it makes recognition of pupils easier. Please support us by ensuring that your child is wearing full uniform and not the latest fashion accessories! Parents should inform the school by letter if there is a reason why a pupil cannot wear full school uniform.

Uniform List

PE and Games

	white shirt or polo shirt
	Navy blue sweatshirt or cardigan (available with the Wellesley logo)
	Navy blue or grey plain knee length skirt Grey or blue pinafore dress
	Dark grey or navy blue school trousers. In the summer children may wear grey or blue smart shorts
	dress in blue gingham or blue/white striped material
	blue, grey or white tights or socks
	brown, navy or black shoes

	White or house colour tee-shirt (with or without Wellesley logo)
	Blue shorts
	Plimsolls
	Trainers (for outdoor use only)
	Tracksuit (optional for cold weather)

General Notes

	No mini skirts or long skirts.
	No trainer socks, knee length or ankle socks only.
	PE kit should include socks for girls if they come in tights.
	For safety reasons open toed shoes/sandals, boots, trainers should not be worn in school.
	Jewellery should not be worn in school by any pupil. Watches are allowed but should be named and remain the responsibility of the child. Plain stud ear rings may be worn but children must be able to remove them for PE lessons.
	Teachers can withdraw children from certain activity lessons if their clothing is a danger to their safety.
	All items of clothing and footwear should be named with permanent labels. Unmarked lost property is kept in a lost property box in school.
	Pupils are expected to keep their uniform neat and tidy in class, or hung on pegs in cloakrooms. All PE kit should be in a labelled PE bag.
