Outdoor Play and Learning Award (OPAL)
 
As a result of the wonderful play equipment, grounds and playpod scheme we have been awarded the top award for outdoor play and learning.
Health at school

We are part of the Healthy Schools scheme which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle. Under the scheme we have:

- introduced water bottles into the classrooms so children can drink regularly throughout the day
- installed cycle racks to encourage cycling
- promoted sun awareness—children are encouraged to bring in suncream during the summer months and wear sun caps
- provided fruit and vegetables daily to children in KS1
- introduced a healthy tuck shop
 
Eco Award
We have successfully been awarded the silver Eco-Schools Award as recognition of all the hard work put in by the school community to become environmentaly friendly. Everyone has put a lot of effort into our recycling projects, our initiatives to conserve energy and our designs to improve the school grounds.
 
Activemark
Wellesley has been awarded the Activemark for the past 2 years by the DfES. This is a recognition of the quality, variety and amount of PE that our children are offered. Congratulations to everyone involved.
 
Basic Skills Quality Mark
We are delighted to announce that we have recently been awarded the Quality Mark. The award is given to schools that have reached a high standard of teaching and learning in English and Maths and have rigorous systems in place to keep standards high. The award has taken the school two years to work towards and follows a lot of hard work by all of the teaching staff in the school.

Achievement of the financial management standards shows that a school is financially well-managed.
